Want to work with Glued?

We're really pleased you want to work with Glued, and thank you for taking the time to read through this properly rather than skipping straight to the application form (as there are a few things we will ask you to prep!)

Before you dive in, we want to be straight with you: we get a lot of CVs. Messages too, more than we can always reply to individually. That's a good problem to have, it means people want in. So we've built a proper process around it, and this page is here to walk you through it before you apply.

It also means that sometimes we are slower to respond that we would like.  So for that, we apologise in advance.

Why we do it this way

Every EA we bring on is matched to a specific client, not just badged as "available." That match has to work both ways. We need the client to get and EA who can actually do the job, properly. But just as much, we need you in a role that uses what you're actually good at, working with someone whose pace and style suits how you work.

Most of us have had a job where the skills didn't fit. Where the day was full of the wrong kind of admin, and you counted down the hours. Not every EA role is the same, and putting you into the wrong one helps nobody, least of all you.

That's not recruitment. That's matchmaking. It's why the process below is more thorough than a normal application, and why it's worth doing properly rather than rushing to hit submit.

Before you apply

Two things to have ready, so you're not scrambling halfway through the form:

Your CV, as a link. Google Drive, Dropbox, wherever works, just make sure it's set to viewable by anyone with the link. We can't accept attachments through the form.

A short video of yourself, under two minutes. However's easiest, record yourself on a Zoom call and send us the link, or just use your phone, portrait or landscape, whatever's simplest. We're not looking for production value or editing, just you, talking. Find a spare five minutes somewhere quet enough that we can hear you properly, and tell us:

  • Your name, and where you're based.

  • Two things your current (or most recent) boss would say you're brilliant at as an EA.

  • What you'd tell your younger self about being an EA, and why it's a genuinely great job to be good at.

  • What you love doing outside work.

  • One to end on: a TV show, podcast or book you'd tell us to check out, and why.

Save it somewhere (google drive, dropbox etc) and then add that link to view it to your application form.

Get both ready, then come back and fill in the form below.  It really does not need to be anything scripted, no need to rehearse it.

One thing to check before you apply

Our clients need fractional support, but fractional doesn't mean flexible in the way it sounds. If a client has you for an hour a day, that hour is rarely one block, it might be twenty minutes first thing, twenty at lunch, twenty at the end of the day, because inboxes, diaries and travel don't wait for a convenient slot.

So we need genuine availability across the working week, not just certain days, and the ability to dip in and out through the day rather than batching it into one sitting. If you've only got a single hour free between twelve and one, or you can only work Monday, Wednesday and Friday, it's honestly not going to work for the kind of support our clients need, and we'd rather tell you that now than have you go through the whole process for nothing.

What happens next

One monthly subscription.

Honestly, for most people who apply, the answer will be: not right now. We recruit against actual client need, not a rolling pipeline, and that need doesn't come up constantly. If nothing's live when you apply, you'll hear that from us, and your details stay on file. When something does come up that fits, we come back to you.

If a role is open and you look like a fit for it:

  1. First interview. A conversation, getting to know you and how you work.

  2. A 30-minute task. We'll set something short and ask you to screen record while you do it. It's not about the "right" answer, it's about how you think it through, what you notice, how you approach it. Tells us more than a CV ever could.

  3. Usually there will then be a 2nd interview conversation.

From there, it's the same matching process we run on every client, DISC profile, working style, the full picture.

The Glued EA Community

Working with Glued means more than a placement. Our EAs get ongoing support, regular training, and a genuine sense of being part of a team, not just a name on a roster.

We're also building that community beyond our EAs. Follow us on Instagram @the_ea_edit_ to see what we're working on.
